Solas Reopening July 5th 2021

The Solas Cancer Support Centre is delighted to announce that plans are in place to safely reopen both Centres, in Waterford and Dungarvan, on Monday 5th July.

Manager Tracy McDaid explains more ‘We are very pleased to be reopening the services and look forward to seeing clients face to face again for the first time since December 2020. We are following guidance from the National Cancer Control Programme and are grateful that our team have been vaccinated over the last number of months. It is very important to us that our clients have confidence to engage with the services in person and all protocols are in place to protect our clients and our team’.

In preparation for reopening the charity welcomed a new staff member to support clients.  Anna Drynan Gale joins the team as Client Services Coordinator in supporting Clare Shanahan, Director of Services.  Clare and Anna are the first point of contact when a new client engages with the service and as experienced nurses make this engagement as easy as possible.

Free professional support services are available to those affected by cancer, their families and carers in the Waterford and West Waterford area. A wide range of services are available including Counselling, Wellness Therapies, Meditation, Yoga and Art Psychotherapy for children and adolescents.
