Dance for Life 2017

Dance for Life 2017 for The Solas Cancer Support Centre

Following the amazing success of Dance for Life 2016 the Solas Cancer Support Centre is delighted to announce the event will be returning in 2017.

Dr Brian Creedon, Chairman of the Solas Cancer Support Centre explains more: ‘To kick off 2017 we are looking for participants to undertake a 12 week training programme, staring in early January. Dances taught will include – Tango, Charleston, Paso doble, Salsa, Waltz, Foxtrot, Jazz, Swing, Cha-cha to name a few! You don’t need a partner and it’s open to all ages ( you must be over 18 years of age) and open to all fitness levels.

This is a very exciting event that will help fund the activities and services that will be provided by the Solas Cancer Support Centre in 2017. Participants will be asked to fundraise, with a target of €500.00 required per dancer and to assist in selling tickets for the show. We will offer as much support as possible to the dancers in their fundraising endeavours’.

Local Choreographer Michelle Condon explains that every dancer will learn one dance as part of a couple and also a group dance. Michelle looks forward to the event being great fun to take part in and guarantees that the show will “take the roof off The Theatre Royal on Friday 7th April 2017.”

Rehearsals will start in early January with dance lessons taking place each Thursday evening. There may be a requirement for additional rehearsals as the event gets closer.
