Solas Choir

The Solas Cancer Support Centre is recruiting members for a new choir that will start in January.

Tracy McDaid, Manager of the Solas Cancer Support Centre explains the background to this new choir: ‘We are fortunate to have a wonderful choir each year that come together for our Christmas Stars for Life event in December. In 2017 we plan to build on this existing membership and have a structured choir that will enjoy 12 weeks of choral instruction with Julie Quinan, Coordinator of the Music School in WIT’.

Chairman, Dr Brian Creedon further explains ‘We hope to bring people who have been affected by cancer together on a weekly basis to sing, have fun together and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of music. The choir is open to people with a cancer diagnosis, their family members, carers’ and all friends of the Solas Cancer Support Centre.

The choir will practice each Tuesday evening from 8pm to 9pm at the Solas Cancer Support Centre, from Tuesday 10th January for 12 weeks and promises to be social, fun and challenging at the same time. Pre-registration is not necessary – please feel free to come along to the Solas Cancer Support Centre on the night.
