The Solas Centre and SECF - the South Eastern Cancer Foundation Ltd.
All our services are provided free of charge, and are paid 100% from YOUR generous donations.
Services offered by the South East Cancer Foundation (SECF) include :
- counselling,
- group support and
- relaxation therapies.
These are available to cancer patients and carers at our current drop-in centre in Waterford and throughout the South East counties of Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Carlow and Wexford with our outreach service.
We are a Registered Charity: CHY 15280 The centre is based in 7 Sealy Close, Earlscourt, Waterford City. It is temporarily in a rented suburban home which now has been outgrown and we are building a new purpose built home to provide the facilities and privacy to cater for increasing demand for sevices from people affected by cancer. Our History
Set up in 1999, by Oncology doctors and nurses in Waterford Regional Hospital, the SECF is a charity which primarily provides practical support to cancer patients and their families.
New SOLAS CENTRE
The new SOLAS CENTRE will improve and expand the service that the SECF provides. Waterford City Council has very kindly provided the site close to the Hospital. Building will begin in May 2010 and is due to finish in December 2010.
